GNU Free Documentation License How do Pilots find their path in air during their plight from one place to another? Q. I would like to know, how the air pilots find their path in the air to drive the aeroplane from one place to another during plight, that too at a higher altitude? Waypoints are like satellites that is on the ground and it tells the pilots how close to that waypoint. They follow the waypoints that are set by the FAA. There are thousands of them in the US and that's how the know where they're going from orgin to destination. I fly online on Flight Simulator 2004/VATSIM and we have to use the real world flight routes to fly online. Answered by julian192001 - Thu Nov 29 02:11:47 2007 How often do commercial airplane pilots get to see their families? Q. I was just wondering how often airplane pilots get to be with their familes, I guess during the month. If you're a pilot, or you just happen to know tell me. Thanks. A junior pilot in a base will probably fly around 16 days a month, while a senior pilot may fly as little as 10 days, and be home every night. Remember that a pilot flying 16 days a month, 4 4-day trips, in only gone from home 12 nights a month. The older I get, the less I like to be gone, but, since I am more senior, I have more choices. I could downgrade to B777 FO,, and only fly 3 3-day trips a month, and be gone from home only 6 nights a month. Since the reserves are rarely used on the wide-bodies, some will bid reserve, and stand-by 18 days a month, but only actually fly a few days a month Answered by RickH - Sun Nov 29 21:48:48 2009 What kind of pilots fly military business jets?
Q. For instance, we only really look at the Cargo and Fighter aircraft. But the small private aircarft, that transports generals and other officials. Is it the lower rank cargo pilots who just have to work their way up to other Aircraft. Just wondering how it works? Asked by Ezz - Wed Jul 23 18:08:35 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Depends on the where the squadron and aircraft are based. C-21s (learjets) can have anything from a 1Lt and up as a pilot. Some C-37 (Gulfstreams) operate the same way, they'll take whoever is available to become a pilot in that unit. There is one C-37 unit though that requires all potential crewmembers to submit an application package and come out for an interview. And for pilots they usually only take Captains and up, and they must have been an Instructor or Evaluator Pilot with a certain amount of flying hours. Hope this helps.
