Racquetball is a racquet sport played with a hollow rubber ball in an indoor or outdoor court. Joe Sobek is credited with inventing racquetball in 1950, adding a stringed racquet to the game to increase velocity and control. Unlike most racquet sports, such as tennis or badminton, the court's walls, floor, and ceiling are legal playing surfaces (sometimes, depending on the rules), rather than out-of-bounds.

How can I get armorall off of a racquetball court floor?
Q. An employee used Armorall to clean our racquetball court and now it is dangerously slippery. We have the state championships coming up and I need to know how to clean it off. I've tried soap and water, but no luck. Any ideas?

A. Ask someone who runs a bowling alley. They have to oil the lanes and that's easily as slippery as armorall on a gym floor. They know how to strip the lanes of oil to re-oil them. Whatever they use on the lanes should probably work on Armorall. Good luck.

How to go from tennis to racquetball?
Q. Okay, so I got a racquetball racquet and I'm off to go practice tomorrow so I can play against this guy at my job. How is the form of the swing different than in tennis? Or is it? I want to practice properly!

A. the swing is the same just less followthrough but most of it is still there dont aim make it go as wild as possible catch the ball at as low an angle as possible instead of like tennis where u want it as high as possible because u can hit the ball very steep and make it a difficult shot to hit

So I just started playing racquetball. Do those shock absorbers in the string really do anything?
Q. I'm sure people have said it helps with control and avoiding tennis elbow, but I'm curious how true this helps. I'm hoping people who really know a lot about this game can share their opinions. Thanks!

A. I have been playing for three years and there is no doubt that they work. They do not have anything to do with control but they work wonders on vibration. Some racquet's like my Head Liquidmetal 170 didn't come with a vibration damper and it vibrated my hand off. I put a Gamma Shockbuster on it and it has no vibration at all now. Good Luck Adam
